Mandate

To bring together all food Scientists, technologists, students, processors, Ayurveda experts, restaurateurs and other food business experts of traditional food at one plate form so that strategies to plan, undertake, aid, promote and coordinate education, research and its application in Traditional foods may be undertaken.

Collect, collate all data on recipe, ingredients, health benefits; region, state wise; make these available to everyone in different formats.

Create awareness about the heritage, tradition, lifestyles and culture in food.

Networking with various bodies and institutions such as NGOs, co-operatives, farmer organizations, traditional food companies, government agencies, developmental bodies, traditional food entrepreneurs etc. and mobilize their expertise and resources for the development of traditional foods, especially at Micro, small and medium levels and in rural sector.

Identify and indicate areas in which food science research is to be promoted and adopt special measures for development of research in neglected or new areas of traditional foods.

Promote trade, make standards and systems for addressing food safety and health concerns.
